Travel Talk this week visited the Melia Costa del Sol in sunny Torremolinos to try out the very comfortable "Level" experience. Ed chatted with the Melia's Orlando Pérez who has worked in hospitality for most of his life. We are sitting on the stunning rooftop terrace at the Meliá Costa del Sol, a mammoth hotel divided into two buildings. Here Orlando tells me, so that no one is without their little piece of sea view. The hotel was inaugurated in 1976, and in 2019 it underwent a deep renovation: a new façade, new rooms, new rooftops and a new lobby.

You can really soak up the Mediterranean aroma and admire the infinity of the sea from our Rooftop Terrace, a space reserved for The Level guests that connects with The Level Lounge. Orlando tells me that this is hugely popular with Irish visitors. The Irish really enjoy basking in the Malaga sunshine on a Bali bed while enjoying a drink. I can see why. After our chat I took a refreshing dip in the pool, relaxed in one of the whirlpool tubs and enjoyed the complimentary drinks and snacks that all come with "The Level" experience. You forget all about the world when you're sitting here on the roof terrace, it really is on "another level"
