Starstruck in Co. Armagh and Stepping into the Wild in Co. Down

9 minutes | Saturday, 26 June 2021

Today on Travel Talk we continue our journey across Northern Ireland visiting Ireland's Only Planetarium in Armagh where I discover the wonders of the universe and some amazing dome shows before continuing on to meet NI's very own Bear Grylls - Rob Hill at Finnebrogue Woods for an unforgettable day of "Stepping into the Wild" and learning bushcraft and survival skills... Rob has a wealth of knowledge and real world adventure experience. He is a qualified mountain leader and has led and participated in expeditions worldwide; from the Antarctic to the jungles of Central America; the Canadian wilderness to the peaks of the Andes. Rob has got East Prussian, Scottish and English blood, he grew up in the Black forest and as a teenager he travelled and spent long periods of time off grid and outdoors in Panama and other central American countries, learning and living with indigenous communities living off the land. Rob thrives in passing on his outdoor knowledge to all, I was so privileged to spend time with him by the campfire, he regaled me with some wonderful yarns that will rival any adventure book. Some truly amazing experiences that you can also see on my new TV programme - "A Giant's Welcome" currently running on Virgin Media Television every Sunday night at 6pm - For more info visit www.finnebroguewoods.com & www.armagh.space or www.discovernorthernireland.com
