Portugal’s second city has been undergoing a magical rejuvenation in 2020. British merchant ships would gather in Porto’s medieval harbour to transport the region’s famous port wines homebound. Today, the city’s river banks are crowded with hip bars and chic restaurants. Portuenses love their traditions too much to give them up. So the city’s cobbled streets and beautifully tiled churches are in no danger of vanishing anytime soon. Porto is surrounded by stunning vineyards and wonderful excursions and as a city it offers a friendly welcome and great value. This is definitely a Porto without a storm.
