Banks To Provide 3 Month Mortgage Break For Those Hit By Covid 19

Homeowners who are financially hit by COVID-19 will be able to avail of a three month mortgage break.

The Chief Executive's of Ireland's five largest banks met with the Finance Minister this afternoon to agree a series of measures.

Landlords whose tenants are impacted financially may also qualify for a break from repayments.

Contactless payments are to increase from thirty to fifty euro to help people avoid cash.

Stamp duty on credit cards will be suspended until July 1st.

Normally Revenue collects the 30 euro stamp duty on April 1st.

People with credit cards don't need to take any action as the collection date will change automatically.
