Bray Boxing Murder trial Collapses At The Central Criminal Court

The  trial of a man accused of murder at Bray Boxing Club just over three years ago,  has collapsed, after a juror became ill last week.

34 year old Gerard Cervi has denied murdering Bobby Messett and the attempted murder of two others at the Wicklow gym on the fifth of June in 2018.

Two jurors were discharged last month, as the trial was taking longer to complete than initially expected, while the case adjourned again last Friday after another juror took ill.

The remaining jury members were recalled to the Central Criminal Court this morning.

According to Independent.ie, Mr Justice Michael White said the juror who took ill last week could not continue and that as the jury was below ten members, the trial could not continue.

The case has been listed for mention again next month.
