Face Masks To Be Implemented For Those At Secondary School Level

A potential shift towards mandatory face coverings in secondary schools is set to be implemented following new advice.

The European Centre for Disease Control has recommended PPE and face coverings be worn in school settings to minimise the spread of Covid-19.

The Health Minister Stephen Donnelly said earlier this week that he would wait for the advice of the ECDC before considering the measure.

The Department of Education have been considering revised measures received from the Health Protection Surveillance Centre today.

It's likely face coverings for staff and students will be more of a feature in secondary schools here in the event the 2 meter social distancing guidelines can't be maintained.
