HSE Under Fire Over Condition Of Mental Health Units

A state watchdog says many of the country's mental health units are outdated and not fit for purpose.

It's calling for urgent investment, to protect them against another surge of Covid-19 or a future pandemic.
There was a peak of 269 cases a week in these units in January - and the Mental Health Commission says poor facilities were a factor.

Chief executive John Farrelly says the HSE needs to take action.
