Unicef and the WHO are calling for a humanitarian airbridge to be set up to help deliver aid into Afghanistan.
They say while the main focus has been on evacuation, the massive humanitarian needs of the population should not be neglected.
Eight Irish citizens have been evacuated from the country, while 26 Irish people are still trying to leave.
