Lobby Group Says Introducing Minimum Pricing For Alcohol Will Impact on The Economy

Introducing a minimum unit price for alcohol will encourage people to shop across the border, according to a drinks lobby group.

The legislation which has been worked on for years would see the cheapest bottle of wine costing around eight euro, while large bottles of spirits would cost about 20 euro.
Drinks Ireland also says the minimum unit price could see the Irish exchequer losing out on just under 100 million euro.
Patricia Callan from the lobby group says it's important this decision is taken in line with Northern Ireland
