A study suggests the compulsory use of face masks could slow the spread of coronavirus by as much as 40 percent.
Researchers in Germany found the number of positive cases dropped significantly after coverings were made mandatory in shops and public transport.
They say the results show masks "help significantly" to reduce transmission of the illness.
A new campaign's being launched here next week to encourage more people to wear face coverings in places where social distancing is difficult.
However, they're not being made compulsory.
