NPHET Still Concerned About Threat Of Fourth Wave

Employers are being warned of the high risk of new Covid-19 outbreaks if workers return to the office too soon.

Despite the slight easing of Level 5 yesterday, only essential workers are currently permitted to be physically present at work.
Meanwhile The National Public Health Emergency Team is expected to tell TDs and Senators today that the risk of a fourth wave of Covid-19 remains high, if restrictions are eased too quickly.
Members of the group are due before the Oireachtas Health Committee,
where Acting Chief Medical Officer, Dr Ronan Glynn, is expected to tell members that a further wave can be mitigated, if social contacts remains unchanged over the next 6 weeks.
Immunologist, Dr Lara Dungan, says the risk of another spike in cases is a real possibility so long as young people haven't been vaccinated.
