Pavee Point Hits Out At Wedding Events Being Planned In Their Community

Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council were forced to apply for a court order to remove a marquee at a halting site in south Dublin yesterday,  which was erected for a wedding reception due to go ahead yesterday evening..

The parents of the couple who had married in Armagh yesterday morning had refused to remove the Marquee, at Burton Park on the Leopardstown Road, which was set out to host up to sixty guests.
But Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council secured permission to remove it, before the event took place, with the judge saying the gathering would break Covid guidelines. It's the second such incident in a week, with 120 guests attending a post-wedding gathering in Longford last Wednesday. Pavee Point co-director, Martin Collins, says they should not be happening
