Plans For Windfarm Off Wicklow Coast To Be Unveiled Today

A group planning to build the country's largest off-shore windfarm will unveil it's plans today.

The Codling Wind Park, off the coast of Wicklow, could produce enough electricity to power 70 per cent of homes in Ireland, according to its backers.
A public consultation process is starting today on the joint project by energy firms E-D-F and Fred Olsen Renewables.
It's expected to create around 70 long-term jobs -- and project director Arno Verbeek says they hope to hire locals for many of those positions.
