Slight Drop In Covid-19 Incidence Rates

The national 14-day incidence rate of Covid-19 per 100,000 people has fallen below 300 for the first time in over a week.

675 new cases of the virus were confirmed here yesterday, the lowest daily figure in almost three weeks - while six more deaths were reported.
327 people with the disease were being treated in Irish hospitals last night, while 40 patients were in intensive care units.

Meanwhile, France has joined Germany in announcing another national lockdown.
From tomorrow, people are being told to stay home as much as possible.
Bars and restaurants will shut until the 1st of December, but schools will remain open.
