Talks Continue To Form New Government

The negotiating teams from Fine Gael, Fianna Fáil and the Greens are meeting again today hoping to make progress on a number of issues to bring programme for government negotiations to a conclusion in the coming days.

But there's more pessimism than optimism around the talks with significant work on climate targets and agriculture among the issues to resolve.

Thursday had been set as a nominal deadline but may now be missed amid renewed divisions between the parties.

The Green Party in particular has seen division on what to do next amid some concern in the party that leader Eamon Ryan is more willing to compromise than some members would like.

But all parties will have to make some concessions as time ticks down this week on a deal getting done.
