Talks Take Place Today On British Government's Troubles Amnesty Plan

The north's five main political parties will meet with the Foreign Affairs Minister and the Northern Ireland Secretary of State this morning over the British governments proposed amnesty for Troubles-related offences.

Under the plan, a statute of limitations would apply to all killings and attacks by security forces and paramilitaries.
The move has been strongly criticised by all parties in the north along with the Irish government.
Writing in today's Guardian newspaper, Minister Simon Coveney says it would breach international obligations and add years of uncertainty for victims and their families.
