Tighter Restrictions Expected In The North After Record New Cases Of Coronavirus

New restrictions are likely to be introduced in Northern Ireland today, after a big spike in Covid-19 cases.

A record 424 cases were detected yesterday, and nearly 2,000 in the past week.
The Stormont executive's meeting today to discuss new restrictions - after Health Minister Robin Swann said they are needed.

Meanwhile Boris Johnson's father, Stanley, has apologised after he was pictured shopping without wearing a face covering..
He told the Mirror newspaper he's just returned from three weeks abroad, and may not be "100 percent up to speed" about the regulations.

Meanwhile former British Labour party leader Jeremy Corbyn has apologised after being pictured breaking coronavirus lockdown restrictions.
The Sun has published a photo of him at a dinner party with eight others - flouting a ban on gatherings of more than six people.
