Transport Minister Insists Covid Checks Are In Place At Dublin Airport

The Minister for Transport says there's always been a spot check approach to Covid-19 documents for people arriving into Dublin Airport.

His comments come as travellers report a lax approach to checks at the airport.

Before arriving into Ireland passengers need to fill out a locator form - which is checked by their airline before departure.

Spot checks are then carried out on Covid certs and forms when passengers arrive into Ireland.

The Department of Justice says its always been the advice of the European commission that covid documents are checked at points of departure rather than entry to avoid double checking and long queues developing at airports and ferry ports
