Travel Restrictions Applied To The UK Could Be Extended

Flights from Britain have been banned until at least midnight tomorrow, but that ban is expected to be extended.

Only ferry crossings for freight will be allowed, after a new strain of Covid-19 in England has been shown t70% more transmissible. Similar measures have been applied by Canada and a number of other E.U. countries.
Hundreds of people planning to sail from Britain to Ireland on overnight ferries, were told to turn back last night.
The last passengers and private cars allowed to cross the Irish sea arrived in Dublin before the midnight deadline.
Meanwhile EU member states will meet today to discuss its response to the latest strain of the virus.
Minister Eamon Ryan says the Government can't rule out the possibility of the new mutated strain being here.
