An English man living in west Wicklow, who is accused of masquerading as a barrister and defrauding more than €1million from clients, had his bail period extended yesterday, so that his case can be joined up with another accused.

It’s claimed that 64 year old David Williams presented himself as a barrister and was paid for legal services in relation to immigration, personal injuries, and personal insolvency. According to the Herald newspaper, it’s alleged he charged 1,500 clients a total of €1.2 million.  Williams from Sroughan, Lacken in Blessington denies the charges.
