Confusion Continues Over Schools Re-Opening And Leaving Cert Exams

Plans to reopen special schools and classes this week have been thrown into doubt.

The Irish National Teachers Organisation last night called on the Department to "reconsider" Thursday's planned return.
It says teachers "grave safety concerns" have not been adequately addressed. Further discussions among stakeholders are expected today.

Meanwhile Second-level students say sixth years' mental health is suffering because of a lack of Leaving Cert clarity.
No clear decision has been made yet, but the Education Minister says she'd prefer if the written exams do go ahead.
President of the Irish Secondary School Students Union, Reuban Murray, says the confusion should be cleared up as soon as possible:
