HSE Facing Questions Over Failure To Stick With Vaccine Protocols

The Health Minister Stephen Donnelly has asked the HSE for a detailed report on the decision to vaccinate teachers and special needs assistants in Wicklow, South East Dublin and Dun Laoghaire, which went against the existing protocols .

Initially the HSE said the vaccinations had been given as the teachers and SNA’s were on a reserve list, but later retracted the statement,  after that claim was disputed by RTE who learned that the schools had been contacted on the previous Wednesday to arrange the vaccinations.

Meanwhile it’s being reported that all of the board members of the Mater Hospital were offered a vaccine, which had been designated for front line workers. According to the Irish Independent, a spokesperson at the hospital confirmed that some board members availed of the offer.
