A man was remanded in custody yesterday on charges relating to the stabbing of his wife at their home earlier this week.
The victim was found with a number of injuries following an alleged assault, which happened at around half past one on Wednesday afternoon at a residence in Leopardstown
40 year old Philip Byrne, of Levmoss Park, The Gallops in Leopardstown, was brought before Dun Laoghaire District Court yesterday where he was charged with producing a large kitchen knife in the course of a dispute at the address.
According to the Irish Independent, the court was told the victim, who is recovering in hospital, had been stabbed three times, including in the chest.
The accused was refused bail and was remanded in custody to appear in Cloverhill Court next Thursday.
