The Sunday Show with guests Mark Little and Emer Roche
The Sunday Show
Sunday, 4 October 2026 - 39 minutes

Mark Little joins me to talk about his new book, The Last Good Day on the Internet: Finding Hope and Humanity in a Superhuman World. Mark — journalist, entrepreneur and founder of Storyful and co-founder of Kinzen — has had a front-row seat to the extraordinary transformation of the internet. In his new book, he looks at how something that once promised connection, curiosity and community became dominated by the attention economy, toxic algorithms, misinformation and division — and, as AI rapidly changes our world, asks whether we can reclaim the internet and make it work for us again. It is a hugely thought-provoking and timely book, and one I think is becoming essential reading for all of us who live so much of our lives online. The Last Good Day on the Internet is available online and in all bookshops.
Emer Roche, health writer with Irish Country Living, also joins me this evening to talk about her recent interview with Caoilfhinn Ní Choiligh, the 2026 Rose of Tralee. Caoilfhinn’s story is an incredibly moving one — she has lived with alopecia since she was 15 and has turned her own experience of hair loss into a mission to support and empower others through her Hair Loss Haven initiative. Emer’s interview captures the woman behind the Rose crown, her remarkable honesty and the courage it has taken to embrace her own story.
