A Stay at Trinity College
Travel Talk with Ed Finn

Did you know that you can stay at Trinity College Dublin? Every summer, one of Ireland's most famous universities opens its historic campus to visitors, giving you the chance to enjoy a truly unique stay right in the heart of Dublin.
I recently did exactly that, and it completely changed how I see my own city. One of the highlights was the brand-new Literary Walking Tour, where I followed in the footsteps of literary legends including Oscar Wilde, Samuel Beckett, Bram Stoker, Eavan Boland and Sally Rooney. The experience then concludes with the wonderful new live theatre production, Oscar Unwritten, in the Samuel Beckett Theatre.

And here's another pleasant surprise – the food and drink are excellent value. Start your day with breakfast in The Buttery, enjoy lunch in 1592, and finish with dinner in The Pav, where classic Irish ingredients are given a modern twist. Whatever you do, don't leave without trying a slice of the new carrot cake – trust me, it's worth it!
It reminded me that you don't always have to travel abroad to enjoy a memorable escape. Sometimes the greatest discoveries are right on your own doorstep. If you're looking to rediscover Dublin this summer, I can highly recommend a stay at Trinity. A huge thanks to Derbhla and Darajane at Visit Trinity for making me feel so welcome - Rooms available from June to August from €91 per night Check out the diferent room and apartment options here - https://www.visittrinity.ie/stay/
Led by Trinity's expert student guides, who know every corner of the campus from the inside, the Literary Walking Tour ends where the story continues – at the Samuel Beckett Theatre for the wonderful new production of Oscar Unwritten.
We were lucky enough to have Katie as our guide. She was excellent – engaging, wonderfully funny and incredibly knowledgeable. Her passion for Trinity and its literary heritage shone through, and she brought every story to life.
