On Travel Talk this week, Paul Hackett, CEO of Click&Go Holidays, joins Ed Finn to talk about his recent experience aboard Royal Caribbean’s Legend of the Seas – the world’s largest cruise ship and the latest addition to the spectacular Icon Class. Carrying around 5,610 guests at double occupancy, the ship features eight distinct neighbourhoods, more than 40 restaurants and bars, seven pools and the largest waterpark at sea.

For Irish holidaymakers, one of the big attractions is that Legend of the Seas is spending her first summer in the Mediterranean, with seven-night cruises from Barcelona and Civitavecchia, the gateway to Rome. It means travellers can combine the scale and entertainment of one of the world’s most extraordinary new ships with classic Mediterranean destinations including Naples, Palma de Mallorca and Marseille.

And the ship itself is very much part of the holiday. Paul and Ed chat about the incredible choice onboard, from spectacular dining and the immersive Royal Railway experience to Broadway-style entertainment, ice shows and the amazing AquaDome. For those looking for thrills, there’s Crown’s Edge, suspended 154 feet above the ocean, the FlowRider surf simulator and that enormous waterpark, while families are particularly well catered for with dedicated areas for children and teenagers.
